Most people have had old fashion baked beans. Here is a simple recipe to cook them.
.
1/2cup chopped onion (1 medium onion.)
15 cups water.
1/2 cup brown sugar.
1/3 cup molasses.
1 pound navy beans. (2 cups)
3/4 teaspoon salt.
6-8 slices bacon.
Dash of pepper.
.
Take 12 cups of the water and boil the beans for from 2 to 3 minutes. Rinsed them before cooking to remove every thing extra.
Add balance of the items (except the water) and bake in the over at 350-375 degree for about 4 1/2 hours in a covered top.
Add the balance of the water and bake uncovered for 2 hours or until the beans are tender and of the desired consistency.
You now have a dinner item that can be eaten at a party or at a picnc.
| Some people like it hot. You can reheat it over and over. | . |
